What makes us different from any other dental office?
We do it all! That makes us a very unique practice. Dr. Burch is known worldwide for his advanced training and has taken over 4000 hours of continuing education that makes him uniquely qualified to direct your entire care. Our patients love the fact that they do not need to travel from office to office, and their visits are far fewer than conventional ways of treatment. Additionally, we are also able to treat your entire family, from your children or grandchildren through to your mature adult with functional, developmental, or aesthetic dentistry.
Will I be charged if I need to cancel an appointment?
Cancellations of the appointments need 48 business hours to avoid cancellation charges.
What do I do if I have an emergency and the office is closed?
You are never abandoned. Dr. Burch has his home number on his office recording and Joey offers her after hours CP to all patients as well. If Dr. Burch is out of town, he always has a dentist cover his office to safeguard your needs.
Do you offer insurance plans or take my insurance?

Will I feel anything during the procedures?
Patient comfort is physically and psychologically determined. There are those who find simple numbing is all they need, verses those who wish to sleep through their appointments. We have everything available for your comfort and we will customize it to your needs.
What is 3D dentistry and what are the advantages?
Three-dimensional analyses provide a vast amount of information that enhances the diagnosis tremendously. We scan the entire head and neck of the patient, which allows us to spin the view in any direction or take “slices” of information, like reaching for the middle slice of bread from the loaf, to allow us to see bony architecture, nerves, and other vital information that save you surgeries and time and money.
What is Neuromuscular Dentistry and what are the advantages?
Neuromuscular dentistry is the science of correlating the jaw position to the cervical spine, bite, and posture. We are able to unite postural correction and coordination between the vertebrae, the temporomandibular joints, the bite, and airway. This in turn relieves neuromuscular fatigue and enhances central nervous system responses.
In short, it is the dentistry that deals with the coordination of the communication of the nerves and muscles of the head and neck as it relates to the bite, the jaw to jaw position, and ultimately the tooth to tooth position that supports the muscles in a neutral position. It deals with the body’s posture and airway so that vital oxygen can get to the muscles for proper energy formation. The patients feel more energized, mentally quick, and they experience physical strength and balance.
Can I straighten my teeth without braces?
Each patient has a unique set of problems and complications. Depending on the amount of crowding and placement of the root structure, we are many times able to create porcelain smiles that please you and can be completed much quicker than braces
How do neuromuscular braces differ from non-neuromuscular braces?
Neuromuscular braces are based upon several treatment factors. One is determined by an advanced in-depth analysis of the skull from images derived from our 3D technology. This analysis helps determine the proper relationship of the jaws and teeth. It relates to treatment that creates an oral anatomical environment that focus on creating open airways and favorable tongue position. This will allow for clearer thinking, better and deeper sleep, and protect your heart from neural complications that cause high blood pressure. So the children we treat are set up to avoid many future health complications, allowing them to perform at peak performance. For our adult neuromuscular orthodontic patients, we are retreating failed non-neuromuscular orthodontics that has caused many of the TMJ and snoring and sleep apnea, and facial distortion problems that plaque them as adults. It allows us to slow up the aging process and enhance the health over a longer period of time. Functional orthopedic appliances are used to set the stage for any final treatment with braces.
Traditional orthodontics starts with braces and usually does not take the position of the TMJ or tongue and airway into consideration. The focus is simply the straightening of the teeth without regard to these other issues.
What is smile analysis and design?
Smile analysis is based on an age-old law of nature known as Golden Proportions. Every artist throughout history has learned these principles in every form of art, from painting to sculpting. We have applied mathematical formulations to determine the appropriate symmetry and size and position of the teeth of your smile.
We also take your facial features, lip curvatures, and complexion into account to design your smile. This dictates the proper shape and length arrangement of the edges of teeth, as well as the color preference of the patient.
We have patients who love to be a part of the design process and others who prefer our help in proper design. Either way, there is nothing finer than being proud to express your feelings with your new gorgeous smile!
Can we help with snoring and sleep apnea?
With the help of our sleep doctors and sleep study centers, we can help to create possible alternative treatment for CPAP. We may determine that treatment for airway issues may have many different options to consider, from orthodontics to snore or sleep apnea appliances to full neuromuscular reconstruction. There may be surgical options that need to be considered as well. The only way we can determine your needs is to have your 3D diagnosis by Dr. Burch and his sleep team.
Do children have neuromuscular problems that can be more easily treated than adults?
Neuromuscular problems can include hereditary, environmental and allergy influenced changes that lead to poor bites, jaw joint problems, snoring, bruxing and premature wear of teeth, heart issues, compromised energy, and premature death from sleep apnea. It is so much easier to diagnose and treat these airway and TMJ problems before they manifest themselves by guiding the growth patterns and helping Mother Nature set them up for a much healthier life. Functional orthopedic appliances can be placed to help achieve these changes.
Should children have functional appliances before braces?
If a child’s growth and development is compromised, the answer is absolutely YES! There are times when these functional appliances may eliminate the need for or greatly reduce the time needed for actual braces. So, it doesn’t make sense to consider braces without functional appliance therapy prior to the placement of the bands.
What is the ideal age for my child to consider functional appliance therapy?
Age 8 is a great time for analysis. The longer you put off early interceptive care the less desirable are the results. By the age of 12, the intervention is much more complex. But that is not to say it is too late at that time. It simply means the sooner we intercede the better the results. We can still get acceptable results, but it takes more time and treatment.
What can adult neuromuscular functional appliances do for me at this stage?
One of the most popular reasons our adults want functional appliances is to achieve facial aesthetics and slow the unsightly aging process. There is an age-old adage that form follows function. When teeth and the surrounding bone are placed into their proper supporting positions, they act as a scaffold for the lips and nose and support especially the lower 1/3 of the face.
Other reasons our adult patients have this type of treatment is to help open their airway and help correct neuromuscular and TMJ problems that can shorten their physical life and greatly diminish the quality as well.
